My Fear / Irene Dan (Translated to English by Tom Dan)
Its ear against the door
Waiting
For me to turn the knob
It will enter shortly
Pretending
We do not know each other.
I shall drown it
.In freshwater, sealing its mouth with water
I will pull it out, lifeless
Or seat it on my lap
I will rock it back and forth, singing a lullaby
Until it falls asleep.
